User interface/ accessibility/ experience- Rosie
A user interface is the way in which a user interacts with a machine, a set of commands or menus for example. Often the bast type of user interfaces are the relatively simple ones, as they are easy to use and therefore the user feels at ease with the technology. I personally think spotify is an example of a good user interface. It is easy on the eye and simple enough for most people to understand. In ways it is quite similar to the user interface of itunes, which i suppose makes people feel familiar with the software.
User experience is the way in which an end user feels about their experience with the technology. I feel that apple do a good job of ensuring their end users have a good user experience, by uploading step by step tutorials on their website to enable to users to see how the software is used. This would help the end users have a better user experience of the software as it helps them become familiar with the software, therefore avoiding being daunted by having to figure out something new by themselves. User accessibility, refers to the ways in which the end user can access the software of website, or can't access it at all. Some people for example, who don't have the internet, would not be able to access certain parts of software. An example of this would be people who have the Itunes software on their laptop, but do not have the internet to access the itunes store to download new music. I read an article online about how twitter have upgraded from their earlier more simplistic design, to help people access twitter in more relevant and useful ways upon their first introduction with the website. Now using the new search tool, you can browse updates from around the world without logging in.
